In Loving Memory of Marhum Alhaj Haiderali Rashid

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marhum Alhaj Haiderali Rashid, on November 26th 2021 at the age of 81. A devoted servant of the Shia Muslim community and a lifelong advocate for Islamic education and spirituality. We humbly request you to recite a Surah-e-Fateha for his maghfirat and pray for his soul to attain the highest ranks in Jannah.

A Life of Dedication to Faith and Community

Born in Tanga, Tanzania, Alhaj Haiderali Rashid dedicated his life to nurturing Islamic knowledge and fostering community development. He established the Muhammadi Cultural Group (Madressa) in Tanga, Tanzania, where he taught Shia Islamic beliefs, Fiqh, and led the hijab movement. His students, inspired by his guidance, now serve the mission of Imam Hussain (AS) across Tanzania, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.

In 1973, he moved to Dubai, where he became the Vice Chairman of Dubai Jamat (Satwa Imambargah). His visionary leadership, alongside Br. Alidina and Br. Aziz Jawad, brought transformative changes, including relocating the Madressa to the Imambargah and creating its curriculum.

As a vakil of Ayatullah Khoei, Ayatullah Gulpaygani, and Ayatullah Araki, Alhaj Haiderali Rashid bridged communities with esteemed Ulema, solidifying his legacy as a trusted advisor and community leader.

Scholarly Contributions and Programs

For over 28 years, he conducted the Fiqh Masael Programs in Gujarati every Friday morning, covering Fiqh, Quranic Tafseer, and the history of Imams. His research on the history of Karbala and the journey of Imam Zainul Aabedeen (AS) and Bibi Zainab (AS) is set to be published posthumously.

He also initiated the Masael of Haj programs in Dubai, guiding countless Hujjaj on their spiritual journeys.

A prolific writer, Alhaj Haiderali Rashid authored five books on Usool-e-Deen in English and a Gujarati book on marriage titled Var Ne Bhet, reflecting his dedication to addressing various aspects of life through Islamic principles.

A Family of Service

Alongside his wife, Sr. Fatema Bai Rashid, he contributed to the spiritual enrichment of the community. Sr. Fatema Bai founded Mehfile Masoomin, which organized year-round majalises for ladies in Dubai, commemorating the Wiladat and Shahadat of the Holy Imams.

A Lasting Legacy

Alhaj Haiderali Rashid's unwavering commitment to Islam and community service touched lives across continents. His work continues to inspire generations, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he guided and served.

May Allah (SWT) elevate his status in the hereafter, grant patience to his family, and accept his deeds as a means of reward in the eternal abode.
